ERI provides ground penetration radar (GPR) testing services using GSSI’s RoadScan™ system, a powerful, multi-channel GPR data acquisition system. The system is equipped with an inline combination of antennas. One 2.0 GHz Air Launched antenna for layer thickness determination and one 900 MHz and one 400 MHz ground coupled antennas for deeper investigations. This system provides an effective tool for quickly determining pavement layer thickness and performing base and sub-base evaluations with data densities not obtainable by other labor-intensive methods. The system is also used for bridge deck inspections. RoadScan data is acquired at highway speeds, which eliminates the need for lane closures and provides a safer working environment.
ERI can also provide utility detection services using GSSI’s state of the art Utility Detection System. This system can deploy different antennas to reach the required depth of investigation. The system can be used to detect metallic and non-metallic utilities, concrete inspection, railroad bed inspection and many other applications, such as conducting geological and forensic investigations.
